History

In 1984, a local group of family caregivers and healthcare professionals founded Alzheimer’s Services of Cape Cod & the Islands to provide information, education and support to the community. Since that time, we have helped thousands of caregivers support their loved ones living with the devastating impacts of Alzheimer’s and related dementias.

In 1987 we became the Cape Cod Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. In order to better support the growing needs in our region, we returned to independent status in July 2002.

In 2011, we affiliated with and became part of Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod (now called HopeHealth). This allowed us to increase our efficiencies and enhance our programs. Today, as part of HopeHealth, the commitment to our mission is steadfast and our services are expanding.

Hope Dementia & Alzheimer’s Services provides support and education, information and referrals to local services, family support, and respite grants for family caregivers.
